The Airframe and Powerplant Specialist IV Maintenance Instructor supports CONUS training events and operations for the MQ-1C Gray Eagle platform. This role is responsible for conducting and supporting maintenance training, including transition and sustainment training, as well as developing, reviewing, and validating training courseware in response to system upgrades and enhancements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Airframe and Powerplant Specialist IV Maintenance Instructor supports CONUS training events and operations for the MQ-1C Gray Eagle platform. This role is responsible for conducting and supporting maintenance training, including transition and sustainment training, as well as developing, reviewing, and validating training courseware in response to system upgrades and enhancements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a maintenance instructor and courseware developer for the Gray Eagle training team.
- Train and evaluate Soldiers and contractor personnel on the Gray Eagle Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), including sustainment, transition, upgrade, and refresher training.
- Develop and verify courseware for new aircraft features, maintenance manual updates, and software releases.
- Provide Gray Eagle system support for Army and GA customers at the Joint Technology Center/Systems Integration Laboratory (JSIL).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain familiarity with Army forms, records, technical publications, and Contractor Flight and Ground Operations procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and seven or more years of aircraft mechanical maintenance experience. An FAA Airframe and Powerplant License may be required.
- Experience working on a flight line required.
- Experience maintaining and/or instructing on the Gray Eagle Extended Range (GE-ER) platform at an Army CONUS home station required.
- Experience with Universal Ground Control Station (UGCS) maintenance and/or instruction.
- Experience instructing or demonstrating training courseware using the Improved Maintenance Aid (IPMA).
- Strong knowledge of relevant computer applications, technical documentation, and technical orders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with company personnel, subcontractors, and Army customers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to work extended hours and travel as needed.
