Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the preparation of external financial statements and serving as an integral part of the monthly closing process. This role also provides support to the Assistant Corporate Controller, Tax Department, and Capital Planning areas as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly GAAP income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Assist with the drafting of unaudited quarterly financial statements
  • Support the external and bank audit processes by interacting with outside accounting firms
  • Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for auditor requests
  • Coordinate with departments and Liberty operating sites to obtain required financial information
  • Assist with the inter‑company settlement process
  • Maintain documentation supporting the headquarters monthly close process
  • Record journal entries and maintain accounting detail related to intangible assets
  • Prepare and maintain headquarters balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with fixed asset maintenance requests and data entry into Sage Fixed Assets
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (or substantially completed)
  • One (1) to three (3) years of public accounting or similar experience preferred; internships considered
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Well organized with the ability to multi‑task and manage priorities 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
