We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Full Time 4K DPI Teacher to join our educational team at the Sun Prairie YMCA. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and supporting the diverse needs of all learners. The Teacher will play a critical role in shaping the educational experiences of students, ensuring they reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote literacy education.
  • Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Assess students' progress through standardized testing and other evaluation methods to tailor instruction accordingly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design effective curriculum development strategies that meet the needs of all students, including those in special education.
  • Utilize Montessori principles and techniques to enhance learning experiences for preschool-aged children.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to support the overall educational mission.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate effectively with parents regarding academic progress.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is required.
  • Strong knowledge of lesson planning, curriculum development, and literacy education practices.
  • Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment methods is preferred.
  • Experience or training in Montessori education is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and special education needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on building positive relationships within the school community.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, a degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
