Job Description
Overview We are seeking a full-time Royalties Accountant at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for the accounting, reporting, and analysis of worldwide royalties. Essential Functions Gain familiarity with Garmin products and the impacts of third-party software, technology, and content licensing Work closely with Engineering Business Development team regarding all aspects of royalty reporting Review/interpret royalty agreements, contracts, and licensing terms to ensure proper accounting treatment Communicate with various departments/subsidiaries to validate product content for royalty payment Prepare accurate/timely royalty calculations and reports Administer communication with royalty providers worldwide and with internal stakeholders for royalty invoicing issues and associated approvals Prepare/record journal entries as part of the month-end close process Prepare/maintain reconciliations and recurring schedules Support internal/external audit inquires related to the royalty process Assist with ad-hoc projects, financial analysis, and process improvements Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance AND a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience Demonstrates proficiency and knowledge of accounting principles Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Excel Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, work well with others, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision Superior organizational/analytical skills with keen attention to detail/quality with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Self-starter with strong problem-solving and negotiation skills Desired Qualifications Experience using Oracle Applications Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
