Job Description

Position Summary

The Dairy Supervisor supports daily operations of the Dairy department by ensuring proper product handling, strong merchandising execution, compliance with food safety standards, and effective team support. This role partners with store and department leadership to maintain product freshness, control shrink, and deliver a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily Dairy department operations, including stocking, rotation, backroom organization, and case presentation
  • Assist with supervising and training associates on food safety, date control, rotation, and company procedures
  • Ensure compliance with temperature control, sanitation, and food safety standards at all times
  • Help execute planograms, promotional displays, and seasonal transitions according to company guidelines
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory accuracy
  • Reduce shrink through proper rotation, markdown execution, and damage control
  • Maintain clean, organized dairy cases, coolers, and storage areas
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting with product selection and availability questions
  • Communicate department needs, issues, and opportunities to store leadership
  • Support scheduling, task delegation, and coverage to ensure efficient department operations
  • Uphold safety standards and participate in store and department safety initiatives
Qualifications
  • Previous grocery, retail, or Dairy/Fresh department experience preferred
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience a plus
  • Knowledge of food safety practices, temperature control, and inventory management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in refrigerated environments for extended periods
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays

About Company

Pay Transparency:


Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).  Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.

 

*For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
