At WTCSB our mission is to provide a coordinated system of quality recovery-oriented care in Mental Health, Intellectual Disability, and Substance Abuse Services to the citizens of the cities of Franklin and Suffolk and the counties of Isle of Wight and Southampton. We are seeking Full-Time Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (Residential Counselor I) positions for all Residential Homes. 

 

General Responsibilities for Qualified Intellectual Disability Counselor I:

  • Assist with consumer service plans related to identified needs and goals
  • Assist consumers in gaining access to appropriate medical, psychiatric, social, educational, vocational, and other supports and services
  • Assisting clients with ADL’s
  • Participating on an interdisciplinary team
  • Provide consumer training/reinforcement
  • Advocate on behalf of consumer, family and providers
  • Monitor/assess service delivery
  • Behavior management and crisis intervention

 

Qualifications and Skills for Counselor I:

  • Must be a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (Willing to hire and provide training & mentoring to those that meet educational requirement; however, lack the work experience):

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services (Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or other related Human Services areas of study)

  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable DMV record at the time of hire
