Physician’s Clerk

Location: Portland, Oregon
Organization: Trillium Family Services
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

  • Monday–Friday
  • OR 4-day schedule 
    Pay: $22.58/hour

About the Role

The Physician’s Clerk provides essential administrative and care coordination support to physicians and nursing staff. This role helps ensure clients receive timely, effective care by managing appointments, navigating insurance, and maintaining provider networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support physicians and nurses with administrative and organizational tasks
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments with pediatric clinics and external providers
  • Assist clients with accessing healthcare services and navigating insurance coverage
  • Maintain and update provider networks for contracted insurance carriers
  • Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems and scheduling tools
  • Perform data entry, documentation, and general office support

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, human services, mental health, or related field

Required/Desired Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in:
    • Clinical or community resource settings
    • Care coordination or case management
    • Medical assisting or similar roles

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Understanding of medical terminology, particularly in mental health
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
