Position Overview:
Plans, directs and coordinates activities relating to the materials department activities including safety, quality, productivity and employee relations.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Supervises the Materials department’s Team Leaders, Kitters / Pullers and Forklift Truck Drivers.
Plans, directs and coordinates movement of material within the JIT manufacturing facility.
Assist the Materials Manager in appropriate manpower requirements.
Assist in managing material cycle counts and annual physical inventory reconciliation.
Leads process improvement projects: productivity, quality, ergonomics, etc.
Trains employees on their job duties and responsibilities; cross-trains as necessary.
Ensures employees are consistently adhering to standardized work processes and schedules.
Ensures all Company policies, procedures, plant standards and safety rules are consistently adhered to.
Collaborates with the Department and HR Managers in administering disciplinary action, when necessary.
Maintains employees’ time related to the Attendance and Time-Off Policies Provides timely feedback on work performance and performance reviews.

Requirements/ Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years of materials supervisory experience or a minimum of five (5) years of materials team leadership experience in a tier-one automotive manufacturing facility.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Detail oriented and excellent documentation skills.
Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
