    Job Title: Interventionist (Part-Time)

    Primary Purpose:
     
    Primarily responsible for assisting teachers with the planning and implementation of the District's approved curriculum, instructional programs and strategies for core areas.
     
    Prerequisites:
    • Texas Teacher certificate in assigned core area.
       
    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    • Strong command of core areas
    • Strong work ethics
    • Ability to work well with people            
    • Ability to write well
     
     
    Major Responsibilities and Duties:
     
          I.     Regularly review student profiles/class progress.
     
    1. Review data to determine student academic needs in the core area (s)
     
    1. Review and monitor student assessment data and progress.
     
    1. Meet regularly with students and teachers to review progress/student information/interventions.
     
    1. Work with small groups of students (5-10) needing interventions for 40-50
               minutes, 4-5 times a week.
     
    1. Modify instruction and intervention based on assessment data.
     
    1. Develop and implement a detailed lesson plan that reflects the needs of the students being served.
     
    1. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
     
    1. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.

     
    1. Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
     
    1. Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
     
    Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
     
    Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
     
    Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
     
    Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
     
    Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
     
    Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
     
    Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
