Elementary Art Teacher

Position Purpose
The position purpose for an elementary art teacher is to foster creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking by introducing students to visual arts, art history, and various techniques. The goal is to build foundational skills in a safe environment, encouraging students to appreciate art while fostering their intellectual, emotional, and social growth.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
• Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Qualifications Profile

• Texas State Certification - All Level Art or Texas Art EC-12 

Education

• Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

Experience

• Successful prior teaching experience preferred.
