POSITION SUMMARY:
The
Insurance Coordinator Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily
operations and performance of the Insurance Coordination team. This position
provides leadership, guidance, and organizational support to ensure effective
coordination of insurance processes, optimal reimbursement, and high-quality
patient service.
- Acts as Educator and Coach to
enable the Insurance Coordinators to be successful and Counselor when
required. - Works with Director to create and
continually evaluate best Insurance Coordination processes to coordinate Outpatient
care and reimbursement. - Acts as liaison between
WCRH/Patient’s Family/Insurance Co. to coordinate care and reimbursement. - Collect, verify and maintain all
necessary insurance and patient information. - Performs a variety of related
administrative and clerical duties, including:- Patient registration and
verification of insurance benefits - Obtaining prior authorizations and
medical histories from referring physicians, processing patients upon
admission and discharge.
- Patient registration and
- Track and prepare statistical data
and reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for the
Outpatient Program, as required. - Interact with patients and
families, including infants, school-aged children, and adolescents up to
age 20. - Attend monthly departmental
meetings and participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives. - Perform additional clerical and
administrative functions as assigned by the Office Manager or designated
representative.
Position Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
required - Minimum of two (2) years experience
in clerical or business environment - Must be able to articulate and
possess strong interpersonal skills. Ability to interact professionally and
courteously with individuals in person and over the phone. - Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word,
and Outlook. General computer literacy required. - Strong verbal and written
communication skills, ability to convey information clearly and
professionally.
