Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher to join our team. This role is responsible for placing, finishing, protecting, and repairing concrete on a variety of job sites.
This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities and occasional weekend work. Start times may vary, including early mornings (as early as 6:00 AM).
Employees are eligible for benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K) after completing a 90-day probationary period.
Key Responsibilities
- Place, level, and finish concrete to specified grade and depth
- Operate screeds, trowels, floats, and other finishing tools (hand and power)
- Cut joints and grooves to control cracking
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust finishing techniques accordingly
- Signal and direct concrete truck placement and pouring
- Smooth, level, and finish surfaces; remove defects and patch as needed
- Set, align, and remove concrete forms
- Perform repairs on existing concrete surfaces
- Apply curing, sealing, and waterproofing compounds
- Install anchor bolts, embeds, and other fixtures in fresh concrete
- Use vibrators to eliminate air pockets and ensure proper consolidation
- Maintain clean and safe job sites, including proper disposal of materials
- Communicate effectively with Foreman regarding materials, issues, and safety concerns
- Train and assist laborers in finishing techniques and best practices
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience, including 2+ years as a Concrete Finisher
- Strong knowledge of finishing techniques (trowel, float, broom, edging, jointing, etc.)
- Ability to read grades, measurements, and job specifications
- Ability to obtain OSHA 10 certification and First Aid certification
- Strong math, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Experience selecting, operating, and maintaining tools and equipment
- Effective communication skills and ability to lead by example
- Valid US Drivers License
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, including heat over 100°F
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and twist throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
- Strong physical stamina, coordination, and manual dexterity
- Ability to safely operate and control tools and machinery with precision
