PRIMARY PURPOSE: To test, align, and repair electronic
assemblies in an efficient and timely manner to meet company requirements. To diagnose more complex electrical and
mechanical problems.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:
- Tests and/or aligns system infrastructure and electronic subscriber units/assemblies/accessories to meet shop requirements. Diagnoses complex problems referred from customers/dealers. Performs necessary repairs.
- Performs electrical and mechanical testing of electronic assemblies including the proper use of such equipment as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, counters, and associated equipment to produce a finished product that meets company quality standards.
- Demonstrates the willingness and ability to train other team members on specific radio or infrastructure products.
- Demonstrates capability/versatility to test/analyze/repair 75% of product line efficiently.
- Makes daily check of equipment to ensure it is in proper working order and in calibration. Sets up and performs standard adjustments of test equipment on occasion. Performs minor maintenance of equipment.
- Log daily activity, using the Glovia system, to include what problems were found in product, what repairs were made, and how much time was spent working on the product.
- Observes established safe working and housekeeping procedures. Promptly corrects and/or notifies supervisor of hazardous situations.
- Demonstrates a cooperative attitude and works effectively with others.
- Exhibits dependability and complies with attendance requirements.
- Communicate in a professional manner with customers as needed to establish basis for repair. Answer customer questions as needed.
- Communicates suggestions for improvements of products/processes that would enhance the effectiveness/performance of the products.
- Exhibits desirable and appropriate
professional behavior including leadership, sense of urgency, independent
judgment, teamwork, ability to get along with others, creative thinking and
personal integrity to provide for a cohesive, productive unit dedicated to the
achievement of corporate goals. - Writes/keeps documentation on
troubleshooting processes. Provides design team and/or engineering with
repeated problems/issues and provides suggestions for corrective action. - Performs special projects as directed
by department manager. - Interfaces daily with staff members,
departmental and non-departmental co-workers and managers, including
Manufacturing, Customer Service, Shipping and Design Engineering. - Communicates with suppliers,
contractors and other vendors, as required. - Agrees
to abide by the established Approval Matrix.- High school diploma or equivalent
required. - Excel, Word Processing and other
office programs - Knowledge of EF Johnson system
configuration; including LTR, Multi-Net, etc. - Minimum of three years of experience
as a Technician or equivalent in troubleshooting electronic equipment. - Computer experience desirable.
