Job Description
 

 
This Marketing Intern position is ideal for college students and recent graduates who are looking to gain in-office or remote experience in Marketing and project coordination and learn about the Material Handling Industry and supply chain industry workforce education. 

The Material Handling Education Foundation, Inc. (MHEFI) is an independent charitable organization established in 1976.  Since 1967, our programs have supported over 1,000 students and educators seeking pathways to quality educational programs and fulfilling careers.   It is the Foundation’s mission to provide financial support for educational programs to engage and retain talent for the material handling, logistics, and supply chain industry.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write copy for social media posts, press releases, and other marketing collateral.
  • Assist in the creation of written, video, and image content for marketing channels.
  • Recommend and implement website improvements.
  • Measure and report the results of marketing initiatives.
  • Market research to identify colleges and universities in the United States specializing in various vertical industry channels.
  • Research to determine how schools are promoting the Call for Scholarships and identify websites for posting the scholarship opportunity.

 

Work Hours & Benefits:

  • 30 hours per week within the Office hours of   8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. 
  • Summer internship for the months of June through August
  • Open to remote/hybrid work from Charlotte, NC
  • Hourly pay - $18.00 per hour
  • The position is supervised by the Executive Director of MHEFI

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Applied understanding of basic marketing principles
  • Familiarity with social media marketing platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram)
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic photography, image and video editing, and graphic design skills

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Successful completion of introductory courses in marketing, business, or equivalent
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Previous experience with creative software, Adobe Suite, Canva, Hootsuite, or similar social media management tools
