Clinical Scheduler

Full-time. Monday - Friday, eligible to work from home after 6 months. No weekends or holidays.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Scheduler will be responsible for handling a high volume of inbound and outbound patient calls for the purpose of scheduling appointments, triaging patient�s symptoms/issues and routing calls and cases to providers appropriately and in a timely fashion.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Answer inbound calls and place outbound calls to complete appointment scheduling for patients, following physician-specific criteria, based on appointment type and patient needs.
- Triage patient symptoms, questions, and concerns to schedule an appointment or escalate to a triage nurse, if necessary.
- Complete patient registration in Allscripts.
- Triage and route patient messages to appropriate staff members clinic wide.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of medical insurance and insurance companies.
- Skill at communicating in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing.
- Skill in using a computer and a variety of software, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Skill in attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively and deliver excellent customer service.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to be patient in tense situations
- Ability to be a good representative of Think.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
School diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum of one (1) year of experience with medical scheduling, preferably in a high-volume environment. Minimum of one (1) year of experience with electronic health records, preferably with Allscripts.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
This role operates in a healthcare setting. This position requires frequent sitting and computer work and allows employee to vary physical position or activity for comfort.
Must be able to:
- Stand 10% or longer of a workday.
- Walk 5% of a workday.
- Sit 85% of a workday.
- Requires ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Requires employee to: bend, squat, kneel and reach above shoulder level occasionally and twist occasionally.
- Requires repetitive use of hands for: simple grasping, fine manipulation, computer use
- Requires sensory skills (speech, vision, touch, and hearing) corrected to near normal range.
