Position Summary

The Apprentice – Electrical – National Industrial is an entry-level role for individuals seeking to begin a career in the electrical trade with exposure to national and industrial construction projects. Working under the supervision of Journeymen and Foremen, the Apprentice assists with installation, assembly, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems in accordance with plans, specifications, codes, and safety standards. This role emphasizes hands-on learning, technical skill development, and safety awareness while supporting GEMCO’s national operations.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring, conduit, cable, equipment, and devices on industrial job sites
  • Install and mount electrical controls, panels, sensors, relays, and related components under supervision
  • Support testing of electrical systems and circuit continuity using appropriate testing equipment
  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components and support corrective actions
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and construction documents to support accurate installations
  • Follow direction from Journeymen and Foremen to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of assigned tasks
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition
  • Learn and apply National Electrical Code requirements and applicable local and state regulations
  • Participate in required safety training and consistently uphold GEMCO’s safety policies and practices
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support project execution and team success
