    Mid-Prairie Home School Assistance Program Library Media Secretary

    Status: Full time, 40 hours/week 

    Wage:  $15.54/hr.

    Reports to: HSAP Director 

    The HSAP Library Media Secretary serves homeschooling families and teachers in the Home School Assistance Program. The library is open Monday � Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM. 

    Job Expectations: 

    • Work in the HSEC Library and help families and staff find materials
    • Receive, record, and process phone calls
    • Update records of check-outs and returns
    • Shelve returned materials
    • Record library materials into the library program
    • Receive newly shipped materials
    • Strive to present library materials in the most accessible manner
    • Anticipate future needs of the library and recommend updates, projects, and procedures
    • Complete projects designed by the lead librarian
    • Maintain a tidy library space free of dust or clutter

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards homeschooling students, staff, parents, and program while at work and in the community.
    • Maintain a "service-mindset" treating the students, parents, and staff with courtesy and respect.
    • Shows comfort working with computers, including programs such as Google Sheets, Google Docs, and MS Excel. MS Access experience is preferred but not necessary. Willingness to learn new proprietary library programs and tasks.
    • Express professionalism through maintaining confidentiality of family requests, participating in team collaboration, and dress.
    • Participate in staff meetings upon request of the HSAP Director
    • Strong communication skills, organization skills, flexibility in schedule, and willingness to learn new things.
