Job Description

Position Summary: 

The CDL Road and Range Coordinator assists the Dean of Education, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s), and ensures that daily program requirements are met. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As a faculty member, fulfill all the functions and responsibilities of teaching the assigned course load as directed by the DOE.
  • Demonstrates excellent teaching qualities and sets a positive example for other faculty regarding appropriate dress, class preparation, punctuality, student assessment, and a student-centered approach to classroom instruction. 
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for students and instructional staff.
  • Prepares students for success and meets the requirements of the Department of Driver Services & FMCSA ELDT regulations.
  • Monitors attendance and ensures daily attendance sign-in sheets are accurate and turned in at a timely manner to the DOE.
  • Coordinates with the DOE to conduct classroom, road, and range instructor observations when and if necessary.
  • Assists the DOE in training and development of faculty, and substitutes to cover classes as needed.
  • Works with faculty to provide mentoring for new full-time and part-time faculty.
  • Works with faculty to support course consistency in accordance with approved course syllabi and lesson plans.
  • Monitors range/road equipment and ensures student safety, and immediately documents and reports safety concerns to the Education Manager and Branch Manager.
  • Adheres to and supports school policies and procedures as referenced in the employee handbook, faculty handbook, and catalog.
  • Keeps informed of industry changes through participation in industry events and regular involvement in professional organizations.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Teaches classroom, range, and road courses as scheduled.
  • Meets with/ advises students and inputs comments into Student Driving Records.
