Activities Director
St. Luke Lutheran Community is seeking a full-time Activities Director for our large North Canton Campus. The qualified candidate will be highly energetic, creative, kind, have strong leadership skills, and love working side by side with a team and the residents to discover their strengths and purpose.
Activities Director Details:
Full-time/Primarily Days
Starting at $55,000/annually (based on certifications and experience)
Activities Director Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and implement a variety of engaging activities for nursing home residents, with a focus on enhancing quality of life
Create and distribute monthly activity calendars tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care plans
Conduct individual resident assessments and update care plans to reflect preferences and participation
Supervise and schedule activities staff and volunteers; provide ongoing training and support
Organize on-site events, outings, games, crafts, exercise programs, and special celebrations
Communicate regularly with residents, families, and staff to promote engagement and gather feedback
Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, progress notes, and activity outcomes
Ensure activities comply with state and federal regulations, including CMS guidelines
Manage department budget and order necessary supplies within approved limits
Participate in interdisciplinary care meetings and contribute to resident-centered planning
Coordinate with community groups, entertainers, and volunteers to enhance programming
Prepare for inspections and surveys by maintaining compliance-ready records and documentation
Activities Director Qualifications:
Experience in Therapeutic Recreation or related field
Must be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional who is licensed by this state and is eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or activities professional
Recent experience in a social or recreation program (preferably in healthcare) and supervisory experience preferred
Must have basic understanding of the needs of elderly
CDP preferred, STNA a plus
