Position Description Summary/Purpose:

The University of Bridgeport, School of Nursing (UBSN), invites applications for full-time faculty with expertise in adult health to join a new ADN program commencing May 2026. As a dynamic and growing program, the University is seeking to add faculty committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service whose primary responsibility is in the ADN program. This position is on ground and in person for an evening program. Appointment to academic rank and salary are dependent on demonstrated scholarly achievement, teaching, and clinical experience. This is a 12-month full time faculty position.

 

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Program Director, the person is responsible for teaching didactic courses as well as clinical supervision.

  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach across the curriculum with specialization preference in related field.

  • In addition to classroom teaching, faculty members are expected to pursue scholarly activities, participate in School, University, and Community service, assist in advising students, curriculum development, and program evaluation associated with a full-time faculty position.

  • This position is also required to participate in commencement and convocation activities as well as special University meetings.

  • Teaching schedule includes evenings and/or weekends. Participation in other University and community service activities consistent with the mission of the University.
