Summary/Objective: The Network Administrator role is to ensure the stable day to day operations of the computer networks including planning, development, installation, configuration, maintenance, optimization and providing day to day support of all network hardware, software and communication links under the guidance and in coordination with the Network Administrator II.
Specific Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Supports the Company’s networks
- Installs and integrates new network hardware and related applications.
- Maintains firmware, software, and hardware lifecycle for network equipment.
- Ensures network security and connectivity.
- Monitors network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and tests for weaknesses.
- Ensures network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
- Performs network address assignment.
- Specifies system requirements and design solutions.
- Researches and makes recommendations on system administration.
- Coordinates with vendors for escalated support and project execution.
- Supports the Network Administrator II in daily investigative and troubleshooting tasks,
- Responds to designated alert categories and escalates as needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
