Western Health Advantage is seeking a Software Developer II to design, develop, and maintain applications that support business operations and enhance member experience. In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
You will play a key role in troubleshooting issues, enhancing existing systems, and building new applications using modern technologies. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to critical initiatives, improve system performance, and deliver reliable solutions that support organizational goals.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform maintenance and development of user interfaces using SQL, JavaScript, CFML, HTML, CSS, and .NET
- Support and develop APIs using MuleSoft, .NET, and Node.js
- Develop and execute test routines within Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall environments
- Gather requirements and define specifications to produce appropriate documentation
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of existing applications
- Participate in project meetings with business stakeholders
- Take ownership of daily project tasks and manage communications with minimal supervision
- Communicate project status and deliverables to managers and stakeholders
- Create and maintain development and testing documentation
- Adhere to established development policies and procedures
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Software Developer I or equivalent
- Experience with programming languages including JavaScript, CFML (ColdFusion), HTML, jQuery, CSS, and .NET
- Experience with React and Node.js preferred
- Familiarity with web application development in Windows and/or Linux environments preferred
- Experience with relational databases (Oracle or SQL Server) and SQL
- Knowledge of Jenkins and Docker is a plus
- Previous experience in the healthcare industry, particularly within an HMO environment, is preferred
- Demonstrated intermediate-level computer and software proficiency
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
