Description

The Biomedical team within TechAtlas focuses on evaluating fields within healthcare including devices, therapeutics and molecular diagnostics.

TechAtlas Analysts will research selected therapeutic areas and identify all the relevant technologies (e.g. drugs, devices, diagnostics, and procedures) that are currently being used or are in development.  They will investigate the fundamantal drivers of the market by identifying unmet needs and understanding how physicians, patients, and institutions (e.g. insurance companies) make decisions when treating the disease.  Ultimately, Analysts will be expected to truly understand the competitive landscape, produce a vision of how the market will likely unfold and determine how companies are positioned to perform.

To accomplish this goal, Analysts will need to demonstrate an ability to rapidly understand and clearly communicate complicated information.  Strong graphical and verbal presentation skills are essential.  Analysts will be expected to learn how to use myriad proprietary, private, and public databases and graphics/publishing software. They will attend scientific and business conferences, meet with companies, and interview experts (e.g. researchers, physicians, insurance company executives, regulatory consultants, etc).  When analysts have demonstrated commanding knowledge and understanding of particular subject matter, they will also have the opportunity to consult to clients who want to discuss a map in more detail.

TechAtlas functions as a team.  While analysts are expected to work independently when gathering information, the construction of our comprehensive landscape analysis requires a coordinated and collaborative effort.  Analysts will share responsibilities for multiple on-going projects.

What are we looking for

We are looking for curious, intelligent, and driven individuals capable of learning and delivering results at a very high level.  We demand a strong scientific background and will provide training in all other aspects of our analysis.  Applicants need to be results-oriented people who work well both independently and as part of a team.

What you will get out of joining TechAtlas

Becoming a TechAtlas analyst will advance your understanding of the biomedical industry, train you to think strategically, teach you about investing principles, and challenge you to advance our level of research and analyses.
