Be Connected Officer – Community Pathways
£41,133 - £43,680 per annum
Fixed Term – 12 Months
About the Role
The Be Connected Officer is a key role supporting the development of community connections and preventative support for adults across Newham. You will work directly with residents who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation, supporting them to access community activities, build relationships and maintain their independence.
The role involves working closely with Adult Social Care, Community Neighbourhood teams, health partners and the voluntary and community sector to strengthen local networks, identify gaps in provision and support inclusive, community‑based opportunities. You will develop strong local knowledge of services, groups and spaces where people feel a sense of belonging and actively link residents into these. Some evening, weekend and occasional public holiday working is required to meet service needs.
About You
You will have experience of working with adults in a community, health, social care or voluntary sector setting and a good understanding of community engagement and preventative approaches. You will be comfortable working with people with a range of needs and backgrounds, and confident building relationships with partners, residents and colleagues.
This is a varied and people‑focused role, so you’ll need to be organised, adaptable and able to manage your workload independently. You’ll thrive in a role where no two days are the same, enjoy working collaboratively, and be motivated by making a tangible difference to residents’ lives and community wellbeing.
IMPORTANT: If you are an LBN member of staff and applying for this role as a secondment you should note that secondments are subject to the agreement of your current employing service. Please ensure that you inform your line manager of your intention to apply for the post in the first instance.
