Job Summary/Objective



 



UDA is seeking a detail oriented, communication loving, scheduling pro to join our transportation team as Logistics Supervisor.



 



The logistics supervisor is responsible for managing inventory, coordinating maintenance scheduling, supervising a team of mechanics, and overseeing accounts payable (A/P) data entry for all department related invoices for UDA Transportation.  This role ensures efficient daily operation, maintains equipment readiness, and supports administrative and financial processes.



 



Primary Duties & Responsibilities:



The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:



 




  • Educate, train, and develop 3rd-party contract carriers on the use of equipment and technology used for route management

  • Lead, supervise, and support team of mechanics

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels of parts, tools, and equipment

  • Ensure accurate entry and processing of all departmental invoices and maintain effective communication with vendors regarding orders and invoicing

  • Ensure regular maintenance is tracked, scheduled, and completed by transportation mechanics

  • Monitor expenses related to maintenance, inventory, and transportation operations

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency

  • Accurately manage and report contract carrier fuel logs for accounting purposes

  • Maintain knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic, state, and federal laws

Qualifications:

General Skills & Abilities needed to complete job successfully:




  • Ability to regularly work on weekends/after hours if required

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills

  • Comfortable with initiating professional and informative conversations, both over the phone and in-person

  • Basic clerical, typing, telephone, and data entry experience

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite

  • Ability to seamlessly multi-task and manage multiple project and tasks

  • Strong customer service experience

  • Prior experience with transportation logistics is a plus



 



Experience: (required)                                  




  • One (1) year of experience in administrative or clerical environment                           

  • Two (2-3) years of logistics supervisor experience



 



 



Education/Certifications: High School Diploma, GED, or prior relevant work experience
