Electric Drive Control Systems Engineer - OBC

We are looking for highly qualified and talented individuals to join our AVL Research and Engineering Türkiye organization in Istanbul.


 


YOUR PROFILE:


 


•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Controls/Mechatronics Engineering, and preferably, Master’s or PhD

•2–3+ years of hands-on experience in OBC or AC/DC power electronics systems

•Series development & SOP experience in automotive projects

•Strong and in-depth understanding of OBC systems and topologies, including:

•On-Board Charger (OBC) architectures

•AC/DC converters, PFC stages, DC/DC topologies

•High-voltage EV systems

•Impact of OBC topologies on efficiency, thermal behavior, and system integration

•Solid systems engineering background, including:

•Requirements engineering

•System architecture & interface definition

•Integration, verification & validation

•Experience with systems modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, SysML)

•Familiarity with ASPICE-compliant development

•Strong ability to communicate technical topics clearly with customers and stakeholders, including leading technical discussions and aligning solutions

•Ability to work directly with OEMs and suppliers

•Fluent English (German is a plus)

•Willingness to travel when required

 


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES;


 


As an Electric Drive Control Systems Engineer within our E-Drive team, you will have the opportunity to develop innovative solutions for the rapidly evolving field of Automotive E-Drive Controls, with a strong focus on On-Board Charger systems.




•Take an active, hands-on role in the development of On-Board Charger systems

•Support system engineering activities from concept to SOP

•Define, manage, and maintain system requirements & specifications

•Design and align system architecture, interfaces, and integration concepts

•Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and validation teams

•Drive technical discussions with customers and support decision-making on OBC concepts and system-level trade-offs

•Support problem analysis, root-cause investigations, and solution implementation

•Contribute to robust, production-ready OBC solutions
