    Position Title:  Receptionist
    Department:  Administration Building
    Reports To: Human Resources Office
     
    260-day, 8 Hour Work Day
    Salary $16.20 per hr with benefits as per the AFSCME Contract.
     
     
    Purpose of Position
     
    Receives and routes incoming calls and greets visitors to the Administration Building; provides general information and assistance to the public; assists in preparation and distribution of district materials; performs routine office support functions, including word processing and data entry; and performs related duties as assigned.
     
     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for answering and referring all incoming calls on the district's general telephone lines while providing prompt and courteous customer service.
    • Greets and provides visitors with general information and directions, including signing in and out of the building.
    • Performs routine office support functions such as, but not exclusive to, typing letters, sorting paperwork, assembling and distributing materials to district staff and/or public. Employee updates in E-finance and /or other related systems.
    • Responds to inquiries and concerns in accordance with the district policies and practices and management direction while maintaining confidentiality. 
    • Provides general information regarding district functions and responds to routine inquiries or complaints from customers and the public; refers non-routine, sensitive and/or complex requests for information and other inquiries or complaints to appropriate staff.    
     
    Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
    • High School Diploma, or G.E.D. required
    • Bilingual translation ability is strongly preferred; but not required
    • Two years of secretarial or office administration experience
    • Exceptional, strong customer service skills necessary
    • Knowledge in Microsoft Office functions, such as Word and Excel
    • Strong data entry skills and familiarity with web based systems, and basic office equipment
