EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN TEACHER ASSISTANT 


JOB DESCRIPTION


 


GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB


 


Under general supervision, the employee performs a variety of technical and clerical tasks in assisting a teacher of students with disabilities.  A wide variety of tasks are performed to support the efforts of the supervising teacher, meet the needs of all students, and ensure the provision of quality instruction for all students.  The employee provides individual assistance with academics and behavioral problems and may lead small group activities as directed.  The employee assists supervising teacher with general housekeeping duties.  The work is performed under the limited supervision of the teacher and/or principal.


 


QUALIFICATIONS


 


60 Semester/90 Quarter Hours of College Credits


48 Semester Hours of University Credits


(Prefer that college credits be in education or related area)


 


SALARY INFORMATION


 


Pay Grade 54


Full-time, 10 months


$15.23 - $20.60 per hour


(Based on 0-30 years of experience in a school system as a teacher assistant)
