Job Description

As a Junior Accountant, you will support accounting activities and assist in maintaining accurate financial records. Your goal will be to provide timely and reliable financial information through careful analysis, and adherence to accounting standards. Your success will be demonstrated by consistently meeting performance goals, maintaining accuracy, and showing ongoing growth in your accounting knowledge and skills.

Your Responsibilities:  

  • Prepare and process monthly sales invoices and receipts

  • Prepare weekly cash analysis and process payments

  • Prepare and file monthly HST returns

  • Process monthly payroll remittances

  • Prepare monthly recurring and ad hoc journal entries

  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes

  • Compile quarterly financial statement notes

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and perform investigation of outstanding items

  • Provide information related to tax queries and support the tax provision process

  • Prepare audit working papers for internal and external audits, when requested

  • Assist with ad-hoc financial analyses

Your Skills:  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Reliable self-starter with ability to work independently

  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Problem solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail

Your Experience:  

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting

  • Minimum two years of accounting/business administration experience

  • Proficiency with Quickbooks and Microsoft Office
