About this opportunity:

  • You will unload, sort, scan, label, and place packages in designated areas.
  • You will transfer packages from cages, gaylords or pallets to manual or powered conveyor belts, or vice versa.
  • You may be asked to assemble flat-folded wire cages by lifting and latching the cage walls
  • You may be asked to assemble packages on pallets from the floor to a height of 7ft (2.1 m) and wrap the pallets with shrink wrap
  • You may be asked to use manual pallet jacks and 2-wheel or 4-wheel carts, and/or push cages (on wheels)
  • Our packages can range from envelopes to 100lbs (45kg).  Most packages are 5 pounds (2.3kg) or less, except on designated heavyweight sorts. Heavy packages are 2-person team lift.
  • Being able to stand and walk for long periods of time (up to 8-10 hours)
  • Functional balance is required to complete the essential tasks
  • Alertness and concentration is required to sort packages correctly
  • You have good judgement/decision making skills – being able to think quickly on the spot
  • Being able to effectively communicate with other individuals and management team
  • Working in a team setting and independently 
  • Maintaining the package/hour sorting ratio established for the day
  • Cleaning duties as required
  • Possibility of electric pallet truck training
  • Opportunity to join OHS committee
  • Other duties as required
