ROLE SUMMARY:

As the Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs – Atlantic, you will be responsible for providing a broad range of support across the Atlantic region in the areas of government relations, public affairs and communications. You will play a key role in advancing the interests of the organization in Atlantic Canada and protecting our corporate reputation. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Government Relations and Public Affairs: 

  • Lead government relations efforts across all four Atlantic provinces, focusing on regulatory aspects and ensuring alignment with business goals. 

  • Build and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders and regulatory bodies to advance the company’s interests. 

  • Monitor and analyze regulatory developments and provide strategic advice to senior leadership to advance our government relationship goals. 
      

Strategic Planning and Execution: 

  • Contribute to strategic planning for communications and issues management and tailor national strategies to regional needs. 

  • Support the execution of regional commercial communications programs. 

  • Help execute regional campaigns that strengthen brand profile and support business objectives. 

  • Support and coordinate external communications programs, media plans and responses and issues management efforts. 

  • Ensure effective execution of public affairs and internal and external communications in order to support local initiatives. 

  • Develop corporate positioning that strengthens the company’s reputation and builds public support. 
     

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in political science, communications or a related field; advanced degree is preferred. 

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate affairs, communications, or government relations, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and stakeholder relationships. 

  • Senior level government experience at federal or provincial level. 

  • Strong understanding of media relations and crisis management. 

  • Excellent strategic thinking, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and manage multiple priorities. 

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials, media, and community partners. 

  • Ability to provide innovative solutions and adapt to changing circumstances.
