Job Description

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Trailer Mechanic in Forest Park, Georgia! The Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Class 7 - 8 trailers and will operate vehicles and test all working parts in various functions to ensure proper operation. Seeking a seasoned Trailer Tech with strong experience in structural trailer repair, including crossmembers, doors, floors, and roofs. Must be proficient in DOT inspections and air brake repairs.

 

Compensation: $25 - $33 Hourly Pay, DOE - Paid weekly, every Friday!

Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 2:00pm - 10:30pm

What the Trailer Mechanic role looks like:

  • Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare the safety documentation required
  • Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
  • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
  • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on the vehicle
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Perform other duties as required for our Trailer Technicians

What our ideal candidate looks like:

  • Must have at least 2 years' experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
  • Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind the cab using normally available footholds and handholds
  • Must provide own hand tools
  • Perform DOT inspections
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

Working Conditions:

 

  • Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
  • Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise.
  • Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritants
  • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
  • Ability to move and position heavy objects
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to repair vehicles
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
