The courier is responsible for picking up and dropping off items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules. The employee will work as part of the Company�s courier department to ensure that items are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct facilities. Couriers are expected to be polite and prompt with a commitment to providing excellent service and will ensure orders are properly picked up and delivered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complies with the State Department of Motor Vehicle Administration regulations concerning appropriate class and use of driver�s license.
- Ensures specimen labeling process is followed and in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Ensures specimens are transported under proper conditions within the limits of stability.
- Ensures that supply, medical device, IT equipment and documents are handled properly and deliver timely.
- Prepares and maintains accurate transportation, deposit, and equipment delivery logs are completed and signed off on, as well as vehicle fuel consumption logs, and other data, as required.
- Immediately reports safety violations to supervisor.
- Submits incident reports on injuries, security violations, and incidents and claims of vehicle damage or losses.
- Inspects vehicle for damage and documents findings.
- Loads all necessary supplies needed for the daily pickups.
- Completes daily pick up schedule in a timely manner.
- Delivers all daily picks to applicable locations by end of day.
- Negotiates scheduled routes and on-demand stops with management.
- Operates vehicles safely and in conformance with Company rules and regulations and traffic safety regulations.
- Must wear seatbelt at all times while operating a motor vehicle.
- Participates in meetings, as required.
- Checks work e-mail on a regular basis throughout the workday.
- Participate in and complete all required trainings and in-services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
- Must have a valid Driver�s License issued by a U.S. State.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service.
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, other co-workers and the public.
- Must be able to work individually as well as within a team.
- Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be able to respond with patience and understanding during stressful conditions related to patient health and emergent situations.
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize.
- Must demonstrate extreme attention to detail.
- Must possess strong organization skills.
- Must be able to problem solve and use reasoning.
- Must be able to meet predefined quality standards.
- Must maintain and project a professional attitude and appearance at all time.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a clean driving record with no points.
- Driver�s License may not have any restrictions that prevent employee from being able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Must be able to operate a four (4) wheeled motor vehicle.
- Must be able to effectively evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes and weather conditions, as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of prior delivery/courier experience.
Driving/Travel:
The employee must have reliable transportation. Travel for this position may be required up to 100%. While the primary workplace may be closest to the employee�s home, work assignments could be in any of the Company�s locations.
