Occupational Therapist

 

Are you a licensed Occupational Therapist who wants to affect a real change in Utah's Norther region? The Department of Health and Human Services is looking for a supportive individual to fill their role of Occupational Therapist.

 

FT / PT Status – Full-Time
Salary –
$32.00 - $39.00 Hourly Wage

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position:

  • Address functional needs of children who have developmental delay or diagnosed disabilities, ages birth to three years
  • Plan and implement home based OT programs to increase the family's capacity to care for their child and promote growth and development
  • Collaborate and reflect with parents and other providers with an understanding of early child development
  • Make recommendations to families about developmental skills in the areas of motor, social-emotional, speech, cognitive and adaptive.
  • Incorporate research based intervention activities into daily routines and activities that best meet child's needs
  • Adhere to and demonstrate the Baby Watch Early Intervention core values and mission
  • Deliver early intervention OT in alignment with Part C of IDEA federal regulation
  • Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate and timely

 

Qualifications

Minimum or "day-one" qualifications:

  • Licensed to provide occupational therapy in the state of Utah
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Knowledge of child development and early intervention practices
  • Ability to actively engage with young children

Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications: 

  • Experience with BTOTS database
  • Experience conducting BDI-3 evaluations
  • Experience with pediatric patients
  • Experience with IFSP development
