Manager – Burn Inpatient & Outpatient, Enterostomal Inpatient & Medical Acute Care

Job Summary 

The Manager of Burn Inpatient, Burn Outpatient, ET Inpatient, and MACU services provides comprehensive clinical and operational leadership across all areas of burn care. The role ensures delivery of high-quality, patient-centered, evidence-based care with a strong focus on operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, team development, and exceptional patient and family experience. This leader drives program growth collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and upholds BRG’s standards of Everyday Excellence. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Leadership & Staff Management 

  • Lead, mentor, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff across inpatient and outpatient burn services. 

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, skill mix, and acuity-based assignments. 

  • Oversee onboarding, training, competency validation, and ongoing professional development. 

  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and engagement. 

  • Address staff concerns, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions when needed. 

 

Clinical & Operational Management 

  • Direct daily operations of Burn Inpatient & Outpatient, ET Inpatient, and MACU. 

  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based burn care including wound care, dressing changes, and debridement. 

  • Coordinate patient flow, including admissions, discharges, transfers, and clinic scheduling. 

  • Ensure adequate supplies, equipment functionality, and resource availability. 

  • Maintain readiness for burn emergencies and disaster response protocols. 

    • Support interdisciplinary communication and collaboration among physicians, surgeons, therapists, and case management. 

     

    Quality, Safety & Compliance 

    • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, ABLS standards, burn-care clinical protocols, and BRG policies. 

    • Monitor infection control practices, patient outcomes, documentation quality, and incident reporting. 

    • Lead and participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. 

    • Ensure medication safety, EMR documentation accuracy, and adherence to clinical guidelines. 

     

    Patient & Family Experience 

    • Promote consistent patient- and family-centered care practices. 

    • Address patient and family concerns in a timely, professional manner. 

    • Support patient education, discharge planning, and coordinated follow-up across care settings. 

     

    Financial & Resource Management 

    • Participate in budget planning, monitoring, and resource forecasting for all burn services. 

    • Optimize supply usage, staffing efficiency, equipment procurement, and operational workflows. 

    • Assist in controlling costs while maintaining high standards of patient care. 

     

    Program Development & Community Outreach 

    • Contribute to program expansion, strategic development, and improvement of burn services. 

    • Participate in policy development, protocol updates, and implementation of best practices. 

    • Support community outreach, education initiatives, and partnerships that advance burn care services.
