Job Overview:

RBA Builders is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional ready to take on increased responsibility while further developing their expertise in project planning, coordination, and execution.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and driven individual who enjoys problem solving, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and playing an active role in managing commercial construction projects from start to finish.


Responsibilities: 

  • Apply practical field experience to support construction operations, including coordination across multiple project types and scopes
  • Read and interpret project documents such as drawings, specifications, and reports with a strong understanding of their impact on execution
  • Manage submittals, shop drawings, and maintain accurate, well-organized project documentation and logs
  • Coordinate with project teams on RFIs, change orders, and cost tracking to support overall project performance
  • Contribute to estimating efforts, including bid package development, scope analysis, and review of subcontractor proposals
  • Assist in managing project schedules, procurement activities, and tracking critical path milestones
  • Partner with Superintendents and Project Managers to support day-to-day execution, problem-solving, and project closeout
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with subcontractors, architects, and clients to support successful project delivery
  • Promote and uphold safety standards, ensuring compliance with jobsite procedures and documentation requirements
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills while balancing multiple responsibilities and deadlines


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, scopes, and specifications
  • Working knowledge of construction-related software, including scheduling tools and project management platforms


Skills:

  • Project Management Software: Proficient in Procore (or similar platforms) for documentation control, coordination, and project tracking
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Analytical Ability: Capable of independently reviewing plans and project documents to identify potential issues and propose solutions
  • Technical Tools: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); working knowledge of Bluebeam preferred
  • Time Management: Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment

Certifications:

  • Procore Project Management Certified (preferred, not required)
  • LEED Green Associate (preferred)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (preferred)


Working Conditions:

  • This role involves both office and site locations.
  • Physical demands include walking, standing, and occasional lifting.
  • The position requires visits to construction sites, including wearing appropriate safety PPE.
