Job Description

Field Service Technician develops and maintains profitable relationships with natural gas producing customers within the defined geographic territory. Provide technical support to customers.

 

• Maximizes cost effective and safe customer runtime reliability (mechanical availability);
• Installs, commissions, maintains, services, troubleshoots, and decommissions and removes Company rental fleet compressor packages in the assigned territory
• Ensures compressor package environmental regulation compliance
• Reports on new business opportunities with existing and potential customers
• Reports on the potential availability for hire of experienced field service personnel
• Builds positive working relationships and trust with customer personnel by understanding their requirements and making appropriate recommendations
• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and service on assigned high pressure gas lift skid mounted compressor packages within a defined territory
• Inspects compressors, control systems and engines, using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment, and other tools to identify and correct potential problems before they occur
• Submits daily maintenance report data
• Complies with all Company, customer, and government regulatory agency safety, health, and environmental laws, rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintains the cleanliness of Company equipment and surrounding area
• Responds to and diagnoses reasons for engine, compressor and control system failures
• Performs or assists in field rebuilding or overhauling of engines, compressors, and controls
• Installs, commissions, and starts new units, including necessary inspections and testing
• Disconnects, de-commissions, and removes units no longer required by customers
• Orders, stores, and controls an inventory of frequently needed parts and tools to maximize timely response to customer issues while avoiding the cost of excessive inventory, shrinkage, or obsolescence
• Identifies recurring maintenance issues and equipment failures and reports on same to the technical and fabrication teams by electronic mail or telephone call
• Identifies needs for additional equipment with current and potential customers and reports these business development opportunities to the sales and marketing team
