Course Description: A studio-based introduction to design with emphasis upon the production of form and space and the formation of landscapes. The course serves as a hands-on exploration of the relationships between material, tectonic, and programmatic organizations in the context of social, technological, and environmental concerns. 


 


Enrollment: 40


 


TA Support: 60 hours per practicum section.

-Sessional Lecturer I $9,820.70


-Sessional Lecturer I Long Term $10,510.04


-Sessional Lecturer II $10,510.04


-Sessional Lecturer II Long Term $10,760.28


-Sessional Lecturer III $10,760.28


-Sessional Lecturer III Long Term $11,030.36

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture (or related design discipline) and relevant professional experience in design. 


 


Preferred Qualifications: We are seeking applicants with a professional degree in architecture (Master’s or Bachelor’s) and a record of teaching architectural design at the undergraduate or graduate level. Demonstrated experience in architectural practice is an asset. Demonstrated design excellence is desired and will be evaluated through consideration of professional experience, design awards (if applicable), and a 1-2 page portfolio. 


 


Description of Duties: Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.
