Ledyard Public Schools is seeking to hire several Seasonal Custodians for the upcoming summer break. The Seasonal Custodian is responsible for performing custodial and basic maintenance work during the school summer break period and in conjunction with Ledyard Public Schools' year-round custodians. This is a temporary seasonal position.

Reports to: Director of Facilities

Responsibilities: 

• Successfully completing project based custodial tasks, which may include deep building cleaning, routine maintenance and groundskeeping
• Job assignments are based on skill, interest and district need

Qualifications:  

• Age 16+
• Fingerprinting / background check is a condition of employment, and at the applicant's expense 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Previous experience in custodial routines a plus
• Good interpersonal relationship skills
• Reliable performance and attendance
• Ability to lift and carry objects of 25 - 50 lbs

Pay: 

• $17.25 an hour

Schedule:
This is a seasonal position (up to 40 hours per week)
Substitutes are not permanent employees of the district.

• Monday - Friday
• Daytime hours
• Some schedule flexibility

Physical Demands: 

• Frequent walking, bending, twisting and lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks
• Continuous use of hand strength to grasp tools and cleaning equipment and climb on ladders
• Push/pull items such as tables, stacked chairs, bleachers, and/or cleaning equipment
• Work will be performed indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions
