Job Description

General Summary 



 



The Senior Director of Clinical Services is a senior leader responsible for the overall clinical direction, supervision, and integration of behavioral health, medical, and specialized case management services across Covenant House New Orleans (CHNO). This role ensures that all clinical services reflect CHNO’s commitment to trauma informed, strengths based, developmentally appropriate, youth centered, and harm reduction oriented care. 



 



The Senior Director provides clinical leadership and oversight to LMSW clinicians, social work interns, nursing staff (RN/LPN), contracted psychiatric providers, and dotted line to the Case Management Team.  The Senior Director ensures high quality clinical interventions, regulatory compliance, integrated service delivery, and outcomes that promote healing, stability, and long term wellbeing for youth. 



This role serves as the primary liaison to the Tulane School of Medicine Day Clinic and works closely with the Chief Operating & Program Officer (COPO) and Senior Director of Program Services to ensure cohesive, integrated care across all CHNO programs. 



Key Responsibilities 



 



Clinical Leadership & Oversight 





  • Provide clinical leadership, consultation, and direction across all CHNO programs. 







  • Ensure trauma informed, evidence based practices aligned with Louisiana licensing requirements and Covenant House standards. 







  • Develop, implement, and oversee clinical policies, procedures, and best practice models. 







  • Lead interdisciplinary case staffing, crisis reviews, and clinical coordination meetings. 





 



Supervision & Workforce Development 





  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance evaluation for: 







  • LMSW clinicians 







  • Social work interns (BSW/MSW) 




  • RNs and LPNs 




  • Contracted psychiatric providers 





Case Management Integration & Quality Assurance 





  • Provide clinical oversight of case management services for youth with traumatic histories, including but not limited to high acuity survivors of violence and trafficking. 




  • Ensure individualized care plans align with trauma informed, harm reduction, and survivor centered practices. 




  • Maintain dotted line accountability with Case Management Supervisors across departments to ensure clinical alignment, compliance, and service quality. 




  • Guide treatment planning, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance across case management functions. 




  • Ensure regular clinical supervision, documentation review, onboarding, and ongoing professional development systems and schedules. 




  • Support licensure, credentialing, and continuing education requirements. 





Care Coordination & Integrated Services 





  • Oversee coordination of behavioral health, medical, psychiatric, and case management services. 




  • Ensure timely access to assessments, medication management, follow up care, and crisis intervention. 




  • Develop systems to monitor complex cases, risk factors, continuity of care, and youth outcomes. 





Medical Service Partner Liaison 





  • Serve as the primary liaison between CHNO and medical service provider partners on site including but not limited to the Tulane University School of Medicine Day Clinic. 




  • Coordinate care planning, referrals, data sharing protocols, and follow up systems. 




  • Facilitate regular partnership meetings and escalate clinical concerns or recommendations as needed. 





Compliance, Quality, & Documentation 





  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and accreditation standards. 




  • Maintain oversight of clinical documentation, confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and ethical standards. 




  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and outcome monitoring. 




  •  



    Crisis Response & Risk Management 




  • Oversee clinical response to psychiatric emergencies and high risk situations. 




  • Support staff in de escalation, safety planning, and crisis documentation. 




  • Participate in on call rotation and incident reviews, implementing corrective actions as needed. 




  • Develop and deliver training on trauma informed care, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, substance use, and youth development. 




  • Establish and monitor KPIs aligned with CHNO’s Strategic Plan and Organizational Wellness metrics.   





Training, Evaluation & Continuous Improvement 





  • Develop and deliver training on trauma informed care, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, substance use, and youth development. 




  • Establish and monitor KPIs aligned with CHNO’s Strategic Plan and Organizational Wellness metrics. 




  • Use data, feedback, and emerging best practices to continually strengthen clinical services. 




  •  



    Data Integrity & Reporting 




  • Ensure accurate, timely data entry and reporting in HMIS, ETO, and other systems. 




  • Oversee data quality reviews, audits, and corrective actions. 




  • Prepare reports on clinical outcomes, challenges, and recommendations for leadership and funders.
