TITLE:                               Teacher, Credit Recovery Summer Program


CLASSIFICATION:            Certified


PAY RATE:                        $40.08 (Curriculum Rate)


REPORTS TO:                   Building Principal/Assistant Principal


LOCATION:                       New Albany High School


 


Dates:   June 3 to June 26, 2025 - 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.


 


NOTE:  All positions are tentative and are contingent upon sufficient student enrollment and state funds.


 


SUMMARY:  This position supports students seeking to recover credits in any content area utilizing the Edgenuity software system. 


 


QUALIFICATIONS: 



  • Education and/or Experience: Valid Indiana teaching license for the teaching.

  • Other Skills and Abilities: Must have a working knowledge of computers and their capabilities. 



  • Communication - Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; and Provides supportive measures and feedback to student.

  • Eligible licensed teachers must be available for the entire session.


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provide high school student (and those on waiver) with credit recovery tutoring and assistance for any content area a student may need.

  • Utilizes varied instructional strategies and teaching methods to tutor and support student learning in the Edgenuity environment.

  • Supervise and monitor students who have been designated to Credit Recovery.

  • Contact students and/or guardians related to attendance.

  • Collect and monitor student information.

  • Keep attendance and grade data for school and state reports.

  • Seek continuous learning to assess and improve program activities.

  • Address behavior issues as they may arise.

  • Assists with the arrival and dismissal process of the students.

  • Other related duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position will supervise the Credit Recovery Assistant.


 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. 


 


The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
