About the Department
Under general supervision, this position will manage assigned community-based programs for adults with serious mental illness. These programs are administered by the bureau for Behavioral Health, Office of Adult Services. The mental health programs specialist will be responsible for providing program oversight according to established procedures, providing technical assistance and program guidance, ensuring service delivery adheres to best practice, and reviewing program financial and programmatic data. The position will provide clinical support and expertise to the bureau and will respond to requests for assistance from consumers and constituents as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. The duties of this position will include statewide travel to perform site visits. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills experience in behavioral health and/or program management.

Minimum Qualifications
Training:Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.
Experience:Four years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the area of employment.
Other Qualifications
Three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the Health and Human Resources series may substitute for the required training and experience.
