Job Description

Masonry Superintendent – Lead Multi-Million Dollar Commercial Masonry Projects

Job Overview

  • Company: Blackrock Masonry Contractors, LLC.

  • Salary/Pay Rate: $105,000 to $125,000+ per year (based on experience).

  • Location: Nashville, TN (100% Travel Required).

  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.

  • Project Scope: Large-Scale Commercial (Costco, Sprouts, and Big-Box Retail).

  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: OSHA 10 and Forklift Certification Card (OSHA 30 strongly recommended).

The Opportunity You will take full ownership of high-velocity commercial builds, operating with total autonomy to lead massive masonry operations from layout to completion. This is a role for a seasoned expert who thrives in high-stakes environments and values a culture of trust over micromanagement. You will drive the success of a premier construction pipeline while enjoying structured, significant time off between major project milestones.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Orchestrate all field operations for large-scale masonry builds, managing crews of 15–30+ personnel.

  • Execute complex building layouts and elevations independently to ensure 100% architectural accuracy.

  • Sequence daily work schedules and logistics for materials, grout, and scaffolding to maximize production.

  • Operate with a forward-thinking mindset, planning 1–2 weeks ahead on materials, manpower, and sequencing to prevent delays rather than reacting to them.

  • Manage highly motivated, production-driven subcontracted crews by positioning the right resources at the right time—working closely with the General Contractor to align sequencing, remove bottlenecks, and keep the job moving forward.

  • Interface directly with General Contractor superintendents to align on aggressive project timelines.

  • Uphold rigorous safety and quality standards while maintaining a high-speed workflow on-site.

  • Mentor and develop field foremen to expand the company’s leadership tier and operational capacity.

  • Deliver comprehensive daily digital reports to Project Management to track budget and schedule health.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 7+ years of advanced experience in commercial masonry leadership.

  • Proven track record of running multi-million dollar masonry projects from start to finish.

  • Expert-level proficiency in reading blueprints, interpreting specs, and performing full-building layouts.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and “own the job” without day-to-day oversight or micromanagement

  • Strong track record of planning ahead (materials, manpower, sequencing) and staying 1–2 weeks ahead of the job at all times

  • Ability to make real-time field decisions under pressure while maintaining schedule, quality, and safety standards

  • Experience managing and coordinating production-based subcontracted crews to maintain high output and efficiency

  • Absolute commitment to a 100% travel schedule across the Southeast and Texas.

  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to manage long, demanding work weeks without oversight.

  • Ability to use Procore and other construction related software

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • OSHA 30 Certification.

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish to lead diverse large-scale crews.

  • Extensive experience specifically within the big-box retail or Costco construction ecosystem.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive annual salary ranging from $105,000 to $125,000+.

  • Company truck provided or an $800 monthly truck allowance plus a gas card.

  • 401(k) retirement savings program with employer matching after six months of employment.

  • Structured paid time off, often including 2–3 week "reset" periods between major projects.

  • Tech package that includes a tablet for streamlined field reporting.

  • Professional development through safety, technical, and manufacturer training programs.
