Job Description

Overview:

Lawrence Companies is seeking a Part-Time Dispatch Coordinator (Morning Shift) to support ACS and Facilities operations in Roanoke, VA. This role works closely with drivers, operations teams, and customers to ensure efficient dispatching, accurate recordkeeping, and high levels of service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who prefers early hours and a consistent part-time schedule.

          

Schedule

  • Part-Time (Morning Shift)
  • Typical hours: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Some flexibility based on operational needs

         

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Support daily dispatch operations, including coordinating drivers and monitoring service efficiency
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and operational records
  • Provide administrative support (phones, data entry, filing, document preparation)
  • Deliver professional customer service by resolving issues and responding to inquiries
  • Ensure all dispatched assignments are completed as scheduled
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, internal teams, and customers
  • Assist with scheduling and routing as needed
  • Operate computerized routing systems
  • Assist with invoicing, billing, and administrative duties
  • Compile and maintain data using spreadsheets and company systems

         

Requirements – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer systems
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations is a plus

        

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in logistics, trucking, warehousing, or related field preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly learn systems and processes
