Cedarville University is seeking to hire an Admissions Counselor within the Undergraduate Admissions Department. This full-time, exempt (FLSA) staff position reports to the Associate/Assistant Director of Admissions, Recruitment and is responsible for participating in all activities related to the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of students for the purpose of encouraging prospective students to enroll.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Recruit students by identifying prospects and providing relevant service
- Be accountable to goals and work with data
- Utilize resources to move prospects to applicants and applicants to matriculates
- Follow NCAA rules and regulations in the recruitment of student athletes
- Assist with Admissions Department functions, including:
- Representing the University at recruitment events and college fairs (on and off campus)
- Meeting with guests and prospective students
- Assist with the coordination of campus visits, including:
- Responding to campus visit inquiries
- Addressing the personal needs of guests
- Recognizing youth leaders/chaperones and alumni
- Develop and present recruitment-related information through presentations and personal interaction
- Assist with daily check-in, presentations, dorm tours, and on-campus meetings
- Develop and manage travel itineraries, including:
- Coordinating national fair schedules
- Scheduling visits with schools and churches
- Managing company credit card, receipts, and billing
- Arranging rental cars, hotel stays, and travel logistics
- Communicate with prospective students and applicants via phone, email, social media, and text messaging
- Assist with reviewing and following up on undergraduate applications, including:
- Evaluating applications for admission
- Completing thorough file review and follow-up
- Provide input and support related to:
- Strategic marketing and recruitment planning
- Admissions procedures and projects
- Promotional initiatives
- Insights on prospective student trends and influences
- Assist the Associate Director as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Cedarville graduate preferred
- Excellent skills in organization, leadership, communication, attention to detail, and customer service
- Strong group presentation skills
- Energetic, creative, flexible, dependable, resilient, tactful, and competitive
- Preferred experience in sales, group management, and marketing
- Computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets, and social media
REQUIRED PHYSICAL/MENTAL ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate verbally
- Ability to make repetitive motions with hands and wrists
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to function in an office setting
- Ability to use a personal computer for correspondence
