Field Tech Opening in Omaha

Field Service Technician – Office Technology | Omaha, NE

Capital Business Systems | Full-Time | Monday–Friday | No Nights, No Weekends

About the Role

Capital Business Systems has been keeping local businesses running efficiently across Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and New Mexico since 1982. We're looking for a hands-on, tech-curious Field Service Technician to join our service team and own a territory in the Omaha area.

This is a field-based role where you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain multifunction copiers, printers, and digital office equipment at client sites — then head home at a reasonable hour. If you like solving problems, working with your hands, and interacting with customers without being stuck behind a desk all day, this one's worth a look.

Why Capital Business Systems?

We've been locally owned and operated for 44+ years — and we treat our technicians like the backbone of the business, because they are.

  • Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm — your nights and weekends stay yours
  • $20–$25/hour based on experience
  • Annual bonus opportunity up to $1,000
  • No benefits waiting period — comprehensive benefits start within your first full month of employment
  • PTO accrual starts immediately — not after 90 days
  • Company-provided vehicle, tools, laptop, and cell phone — you show up, we supply the rest
  • Ongoing manufacturer training — we keep your skills current as technology evolves
  • A team that supports you — you're in the field, but you're never on your own

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose and repair hardware issues with copiers, printers, and multifunction devices at customer locations
  • Perform firmware upgrades, driver installations, and equipment modifications
  • Manage a parts inventory in your company vehicle and dispatch service calls through our automated system
  • Set up and install equipment and accessories at client sites
  • Interact professionally with customers to deliver a great service experience
  • Refurbish equipment and perform in-shop repairs as needed
  • Plan and prioritize your daily service calls based on urgency and customer needs

What We're Looking For

  • Someone who enjoys working with computers, electronics, and digital technology
  • Vocational/technical education helpful — A+ or Net+ certifications a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with both hardware and software
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule in the field
  • Professional communicator — you'll be in customer offices daily
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and maneuver heavy equipment with assistance
