What we’re looking for
- Proven experience operating as a Senior or Programme-level Test Manager on large, complex programmes
- Strong experience delivering testing across multi-project, multi-supplier environments
- Demonstrable expertise in test strategy, planning, estimation and execution
- Experience managing delivery risk, governance and escalation at programme level
- Strong people management and leadership capability
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Strong business awareness and understanding of organisational delivery drivers
- Experience driving continuous improvement and adopting modern testing practices
- Eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance

- Test automation strategy and tooling
- Performance and non-functional testing
- Coaching teams through testing maturity and transformation
As Programme Test Manager, you’ll be accountable for the successful delivery of testing across a portfolio of projects. You’ll work closely with programme and project leadership to plan, prioritise and govern testing activity, ensuring quality outcomes are delivered at pace.
You’ll also play a key role in shaping testing capability, contributing to organisational standards and supporting the development of people, processes and best practice.
What you’ll be doing:
- Defining and owning test strategies across multiple projects within the programme
- Planning and driving testing activities across all stages of system, service and product development
- Working with project managers to plan, prioritise and schedule test activity and milestones
- Estimating testing effort, securing appropriate budget and managing resources effectively
- Providing authoritative guidance on test planning, execution, tooling and automation approaches
- Adopting and adapting appropriate testing methods, tools and techniques to solve delivery challenges
- Measuring and monitoring adherence to testing standards and quality frameworks
- Assessing delivery risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies
- Acting as the escalation point of contact for testing issues at project and programme level
- Managing and resolving issues, risks and dependencies across teams and suppliers
- Driving continuous improvement across testing processes, tools and governance
- Contributing to the development of organisational policies, standards and testing guidelines
