    Effingham Elementary School has an exciting opening in our School Counselor department!  We are seeking a school counselor to work with students in grades K-6. The position is responsible for delivering and coordinating a school counseling program based on GWRSD curriculum and student needs, teaching classes and providing small group and individual support for specific school related topics,  maintaining communication with families, teachers and administrators on specific student needs, providing feedback and recommending appropriate action and solutions to student academic and behavioral needs, and participating with the school leadership team and student data team to help identify targeted or intensive services.  

    As a member of the professional staff of Governor Wentworth, the candidate is required to: 

    • Hold a current school counselor certificate or statement of eligibility, issued by the state of New Hampshire.
    • Be able to coordinate with behavioral health specialists to develop and implement student supports
    • Be flexible in work schedules and attend appropriate student activities and events
    • Attend and participate in district and school based professional development sessions and teams
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of students to help them attain ideal levels of personal and social adjustment
    • Have the ability to relate to and teach students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles
    • Demonstrate enthusiasm for your role and content.
