Vinson Hall (VH), a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community located in McLean, VA, is seeking an energetic and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Healthcare team. Vinson Hall is known for providing exceptional care and services to older adults across a full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing. This position will primarily support residents in our Healthcare/Skilled Nursing setting, while also providing care across other departments within the community as needed. Requirements

Position Requirements: 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current LPN licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Current CPR certification. One year experience in medical/surgical area or Long-Term Care and/or Assisted Living Facility (ALF) preferred.
  • Experience with geriatrics preferred.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities: 

  • Provides direct resident care, furnishing guidance for continuous contributions to resident assessments, interacting with the physician to implement changes and updates.
  • Assists with coordinating pharmacy services for residents with local military and civilian pharmacies.
  • Administers and documents medications and treatments.
  • As a Charge Nurse, supervises subordinate personnel, answering questions and guiding work.
  • Oversees the on-going assessments of residents, with appropriate interaction as indicated, monitors documentation of condition and any changes.
  • Conducts “rounds” as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Provides appropriate leadership for the intervention and documentation of emergency situations.
