Position Summary
The Service Manager is responsible for the supervision, leadership, and operational excellence of CanaDream’s Service Department. This hands-on role ensures high-quality service delivery, guest and customer satisfaction, and the effective management of staff, resources, and inventories. The Service Manager will address customer and guest inquiries professionally and drive the growth of revenue, technical productivity, and quality assurance. The carefully managed subletting of some repairs, warranty work, and recalls will also be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all Service Department operations and scheduling: initially sales-focussed, but also eventually including the local rental fleet.
- Ensure completion of shop maintenance and repair work to company standards and within required budget and required timelines.
- Perform RV repair and refurbishing requirements to a very high standard.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor all service staff; conduct regular performance appraisals.
- Hire, train, and manage service technicians, apprentices, and support staff.
- Provide ongoing training and development for all shop and parts personnel.
- Address customer and guest complaints and inquiries in a courteous, professional manner.
- Apply troubleshooting techniques and determine proper repair procedures on RVs.
- Manage quality assurance—set and maintain quality standards for all shop activities.
- Monitor departmental performance against goals; take corrective action as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, cost control, safety, and timely delivery.
- Manage stock availability, inventory control, and annual inventory counts.
- Maintain shop cleanliness and safety standards.
- Communicate regularly with staff through meetings and toolbox talks.
- Delegate tasks and support succession planning.
- Monitor financial performance to ensure budgetary commitments are met or exceeded.
- Update lot maps and maintain accurate service records.
- Order parts and supplies using PO’s within the computerized inventory management systems.
- Perform warranty repairs.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a mechanical/technical field and/or business administration preferred.
- RV certification is a strong asset.
- Bilingual (English & French) preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ management experience in a technical/service environment.
- Proven leadership skills with a focus on operations and business processes.
- Strong mechanical and RV repair knowledge.
- Experience with routine maintenance operations and inventory control.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a diverse environment.
- Computer literacy required.
Working Conditions
- 24/7 availability may be required.
- Use of safety equipment (e.g., steel-toed boots, safety glasses) is mandatory.
- Physically demanding work: repetitive tasks, bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended periods.
- Occasional outdoor work in inclement weather.
- Exposure to high noise levels and trade-related hazards.
